An Examination of Selected Techniques for Generating Continuously Equivalent Networks.

Abstract

A study of recent additions to the theory of continuously equivalent networks is undertaken. The continuous equivalence methods of Schoeffler are applied to nodal admittance, loop impedance, branch admittance, and branch impedance matrices. A recent contribution by Ardalan is studied where a n-dimensional solution space may be investigated by means of an exponential searching function, and the row comparison technique of Soukup is discussed. Several illustrative examples (including one involving active elements) are included to present the computational details, and several areas for possible future study are suggested. (Author)
