Statistical Detection of Pulse Trains,

Abstract

A simple set of formulas is developed from which the mean detection time (and its variance) for a chain of n consecutive pulses is obtained. A probability of detection p is associated with each pulse, and a flow graph model of the process is established from which a moment generating function is derived. The latter yields the formulas of interest, which are illustrated by means of a simple example. (Author)
