Project Tule Fog: An investigation of Warm Fog Dispersal Using Hygroscopic Solutions.

Abstract

Hygroscopic solutions dispensed from an aircraft were tested for their warm fog dispersal potential over the Naval Air Station, Lemoore, Calif., in the San Joaquin Valley. Because of unfavorable weather, only four tests were conducted during the test period, 6 January to 28 February 1969. Effects caused by seeding were observed on at least one of the tests. The most significant difference between this and the other three tests was the dispensing rate, 200 gal/min and 100 gal/min, respectively. (Author)
