Analysis and Design of the Flight Control System for A Short Range Tactical Air-to-Air Missile.

Abstract

Linear and nonlinear analysis and design techniques are applied to the design of the longitudinal flight control system for a short range tactical air-to-air missile. Root locus and frequency response analysis techniques are used in analyzing the linear system in a single loop configuration and with an inner damping loop. A frequency response analysis using a Describing Function technique is conducted to determine the effect of nonlinearities on the frequency response of the system. An analog computer frequency response analysis is conducted to check the accuracy of the Describing Function technique. (Author)
