Evaluation of a Mariner Propellant System Bladder Using Centrifuge Facility 1-15.

Abstract

Twelve evaluations of a propellant system bladder design intended for use on Mariner space vehicles were completed using the AFRPL centrifuge to impose acceleration-induced loads of ten, twenty, and thirty times the force of gravity. The AFRPL Centrifuge Facility and RPRO (Operations) personnel successfully produced the requested test conditions in a routine manner. (Author)
