Amphibious Warfare Fleet Operational Data Acquisition and Analysis Program (FODAAP).

Abstract

The study objective was to determine the requirements for fleet operational performance data in the area of amphibious warfare and of future systems for data collection, processing, storage, and retrieval to meet those requirements. The approach selected included: (1) A survey of users to determine information requirements; (2) a review in depth of the doctrines and procedures used in amphibious warfare; (3) the definition and development of measures of effectiveness (M/E) to assist in measuring performance across the spectrum of tasks and functions which are unique to amphibious operations; and, (4) the conceptual design of a data system to handle the collection, processing, storage, and retrieval tasks required for the data elements which constitute the FODAAP data base.
