Effect of Gas Composition on Power Output of Sealed-Off CO2 Laser.

Abstract

This report reviews the effects of carbon monoxide, nitrogen, helium, xenon, hydrogen, and water vapor on the output power and lifetime of a sealed-off CO2 laser. The role of each gas is discussed. General guidelines are suggested for the partial pressures of the gases. Only those gases that have demonstrated beneficial effects are discussed. (Author)
