Suitability for Service of Rubber and Plastic Components of the CURV III Vehicle.

Abstract

Certain rubber and plastic components in the pressure-balanced main cable and general purpose boot used in the flooded electrical system of the CURV III Vehicle have been subjected to a series of tests under accelerated conditions. The purpose was to determine the compatibility of these components with the media used to balance pressure in the cable and seal against sea water, and to determine the resistance of the components to service environments.
