Abstract

Construction of the Optical Sciences building, lectures and distinguished visitors, and general expansion of the Optical Sciences Center are discussed in Section I. Faculty additions, degree awards, student enrollment, and new curriculum are discussed in Section II. Section III presents reports on the various fields of research in which progress was made during FY69. These are as follows: Atmospheric optics, computer programming, image analysis, analog image processing, digital image processing, image tubes, lasers, massive optics, mathematical optics, optical design, optical testing, lightweight mirror studies, structural mechanics, remote sensing, and thin films.
