A Comparison between NIO/4777 Thermostat Salinity Meter Measurements and Three Chemical Analyses.

Abstract

The SACLANT ASW Research Centre research vessel is equipped with an NIO/4777 Thermostat Salinity Meter to measure the conductivity, and hence the salinity, of sea-water specimens. The conversion from conductivity measurements to salinity measurements is by means of tables computed by the N.I.O. The tests described here were made to verify the salinity measurements obtained by means of the instrument and its conversion tables against measurements of the same water specimens made by normal chemical analysis.
