Integrated Research on Carbon Composite Materials. Volume II. Structural Mechanics.

Abstract

A computer capability for finite element displacement analysis has been developed for the microstress analysis of fibrous composites. The stress-strain behavior and fracture strength under uniaxial, torsional, and combined stresses have been determined for graphite-fiber, epoxy matrix composites. An experimental study on the vibrations of laminated orthotropic plates has been completed and correlated with classical plate theory. (Author, modified-PL).
