Portable Vehicle Scale(MD-400A).

Abstract

Testing was conducted to determine the suitability of the MD-400A Portable Vehicle Scales for use as a man-portable weighing station in austere forward areas. It was concluded that four MD-400A Portable Vehicle Scales constitute a suitable, self-contained weighing station which can be carried and operated by two men and that no further testing or development is necessary. It was recommended that the scale platform be marked with a centerline to designate the longitudinal center of the platform. It was further recommended that if and when an aerial port requirement for a portable vehicle weighing system is validated, the MD-400A scales should be considered suitable.
