Digital Computer Programs for Analyzing Acoustic Search Performance in Refractive Waters - NUC Programs 800000 and 800001.

Abstract

The two digital computer programs described permit estimates of acoustic search performance when environmental conditions, equipment parameters, target characteristics, and tactical geometry are known or can be postulated. Applicable sound paths and the expected values of transmission loss along them are determined by ray tracing in accordance with the type of velocity profile specified for the ocean medium. The documentation is do designed that the programs may be used by activities having computer installations of sufficient capacity and a FORTRAN IV compiler. (Author)
