Outline and Applications of the Newtonian Treatment of the Method of Orbital Parameters Variation.

Abstract

The paper presents an outline of the modernized Newtonian treatment of the variation of parameters method and is limited to the analysis of the inplane perturbations. Cases of normal and tangent, radial and transverse impulses are discussed for elliptic and hyperbolic orbits. Effect of the atmospheric drag at high altitude is also considered. (Author)
