Automated Grain Design for Solid Propellant High Low Ballistic Systems.

Abstract

This report documents the use of a computer program written in Fortran IV for the generation of the geometry of solid propellant grains required of high-low propellant actuated devices to produce a specified output. Program input consists of the desired performance, propellant, and system parameters; program output consists of the required dimensions of one-, three-, and seven-perforation propellant grains. The computer program, system equations, selected derivations, and comparison with an experimental test are presented. (Author)
