Nuclear and Cosmic Chemistry at Mainz and Heidelberg,

Abstract

The research programs in cosmic and nuclear chemistry at the University of Mainz, the Max Planck Institute of Chemistry at Mainz, and the Max Planck Institute of Nuclear Physics at Heidelberg are summarized. A few methods of analysis and a few results on meteorites and moon samples are given. New short-lived nuclides have been prepared and the isotopic compositions of elements in several celestial materials have been found to be similar to those of terrestrial elements. (Author)
