Analysis of Present Craft in Future Environments

Abstract

This report describes the results of an analysis of the operation of present amphibious assault landing craft when placed in various future environments. The evaluation of the craft operations was accomplished using a set of computer programs to simulate an amphibious landing. The movement of individual vehicles in the Marine Force and individual craft was considered. Included is a complete description of the methodology and computer programs used in the analysis. The measures of effectiveness, methodology and the set of computer programs described by this report are currently being employed to evaluate preliminary designs of a large number of advanced craft.
