The Department of Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne,

Abstract

The current undergraduate and graduate programs at the University of Newcastle's Department of Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding is reviewed. This is the largest department of its kind in the UK and the size of its undergraduate body compares favorably with any similar department in the US. Its close connections to and support from the merchant shipbuilding industry are emphasized. Comments on the quality of its graduates are included. (Author)
