Some Inorganic Chemistry at Heidelberg and Freiburg,

Abstract

Summarized is the research going on at two West German universities. The Inorganic-Chemical Institute of the University of Heidelberg is working on the color and structure of ultramarines, Raman and ultraviolet spectra, X-ray crystal analysis, X-ray fluorescence analysis, the synthesis and structure of eight-membered ring compounds of sulfur and selenium, and surface chemistry. The inorganic chemists in the Chemical Institute of the University of Freiburg are investigating compounds of the rare earth elements, and the chemical effects of nuclear transformations in solids.
