Systems Analysis of Amphibious Assault Craft: Vehicle Loading Test Results.

Abstract

Vehicle loading and unloading times into simulated amphibious assault craft under controlled conditions of varying ramp lengths, angles, and well dimensions were tested. Representative single and combination Marine Corps vehicles were used. Both 'backing on' and 'drive through' craft configurations were tested. A 'drive through' capability significantly reduces vehicle loading time. (Author)
