Initial Production Test of Assemblage, Refrigeration Unit, 9000 BTU/HR, Gasoline-Engine-Driven, Type I, Mounted on M349A4 Refrigerator Semitrailer Van, 7-1/2 Ton.
Abstract
This report summarizes the results of the initial production test performed on three semitrailers, refrigerators, 7-1/2 ton, M349A4, with type I refrigeration units, 9000 Btu/hr, RGP 9000. The test included performance, environmental, maintenance, and safety evaluations. The unit failed the initial operation, van heat leakage, road endurance, humidity, high temperature, cooling capacity, pull down refrigeration unit endurance and safety tests due to numerous deficiencies and shortcomings. It passed the initial inspection, refrigerant leakage, van road performance, rain, low temperature, radio interference suppression, salt fog, sand and dust, defrost and maintenance evaluations. Recommendations are included for correcting the deficiencies and shortcomings.
