Recent Soviet and Chinese Penetration in India and Pakistan; Guidelines for Political-Military Policy.

Abstract

The study assesses, in both general and specific terms, the influence and the extent of the penetration of the Soviet Union and Communist China in India and Pakistan. It determines the influence of the USSR and Communist China, through various access techniques, on leaders of the government and elite groups, including intellectuals, labor, peasants, civil servants, the military, political opposition, Communist parties, front organizations, and public opinion generally. It also analyzes the apparent purposes and impact of the various forms of penetration--whether for attack, support, or middle-range objectives. (Author)
