Polish Ultrasonic Device for Fog Dispersion.

Abstract

A newly developed device, patented in Poland and with patents pending in 12 other countries, disperses fog by reflected ultra-sound which coagulates the fog droplets which then precipitate as rain drops. The device is intended for use in ship navigation. The device weighs only 20 kg and can clear a path up to 300 m. It is simpler and less expensive than commonly used anti-fog sirens and is not irritating to humans. With minor changes which can cut its weight to only 1 kg. it can be installed in automobiles. The device will soon be tested on board the Polish ship Wolin. (Author)
