Test Fixture for Rectangular Plates in Post Buckling Range,

Abstract

A description of a test fixture designed to investigate the large deflection post-buckling behavior of long rectangular plates is presented. The fixture simulates the support of longitudinal stiffeners yet permits load and deformation data for the plate alone to be measured. Compressive loads are applied in the plane of the plate at two opposite ends. Sketches suggesting methods to apply lateral loads are included. (Author)
