Handbook of Fluids and Lubricants for Deep Ocean Applications

Abstract

The critical factors involved in the selection of fluids and lubricants for deep ocean equipment are defined, and methods of determining critical properties are described. The values of critical properties are given for fluids and lubricants as they have been determined or are known from previous literature. Suggestions also are given on the applicability and possible limitations of the fluids and lubricants for deep submergence vehicle use.
