Report on Navigation.

Abstract

The report devises the formula for the linearized range function of a rocket, assuming a known burning-cutoff point and velocity at cutoff, a uniform gravitational field and neglecting drag. An estimate of error incurred by the use of this formula is also given. It is shown that only a single accelerometer is needed to evaluate both the position and the velocity vectors.
