Dry-Process High-Resolution Photorecording.

Abstract

The report evaluates one approach to the problem of improving displays used in the Fleet to produce hard copy for meteorological satellite readout. A display using a CRT and a fiber optic faceplate to expose dry silver film is found easily capable of meeting the needs of Automatic Picture Transmission (APT). Many parameters of the system far exceed APT requirements, and the technique is believed to be applicable to other Fleet facsimile and graphic information transfer systems. (Author)
