Abstract
An Initial Production Test was conducted on a compressor, rotary, air, diesel engine driven, 6M250 RPV, 100 PSI, trailer mounted, 2-wheel, 3-1/2-ton, M353. The purpose was to provide evidence of contractor conformance to specific requirements as outlined in the procurement work directive and to determine if the M353 trailer was capable of transporting the 250 CFM compressor with no detrimental effects to either trailer or compressor. The results of the tests conducted were satisfactory. The quality of workmanship at the time of manufacture was satisfactory. Vehicle performance was satisfactory. Vehicle endurance and reliability were satisfactory, except for the loosening of the compressor housing mounting bolts which caused the radiator inlet pipe to crack and the breakage of two tube assemblies.
