Review of Recent Developments. High-Strength Steels,

Abstract

The elevated-temperature properties of leaded steels have been evaluated. Initial studies of leaded (0.30 Pb) and nonleaded 4145 steel showed that lead can cause embrittlement of the steel at elevated temperatures, as manifested by a loss in reduction of area and true fracture strength. (Author)
