On the Simulation of Ground Motions Produced by Nuclear Explosions.

Abstract

Procedures under development by the Air Force Weapons Laboratory to simulate ground motions produced by high-yield nuclear explosions are reviewed. In particular, design information for the High Explosive Simulation Technique (HEST) is presented, and the efforts to develop a technique for simulating direct-induced ground motions (DIHEST) are summarized.
