Formation and Spray Drying of Microspherical Grains of Aluminum Silicate Gel,

Abstract

Spray drying experiments on aluminosilicate gel, containing 6-8 percent of dry substance, were carried out with the aim of preparing a fluidized cracking catalyst. The mixture of complex liquid properties was sprayed with pneumatic nozzles. Optimum temperature of inlet gases was ca. 550 degrees C, spray air amount being 0.45 m per 1 kg of mixture. The product obtained contained 70 percent of microspheric grains of 40-160 Mu diameter. The mechanical strength index of the product was above 80 percent and its humidity - ca. 30 percent.
