Integrated Phased Array.

Abstract

The report presents the results of a study to determine the design characteristics and specifications of the parameters of interest of an integrated phased array. Two array designs were considered; one array for the ground terminal of a communications satellite link, the other array for use with a companion array to establish a tropospheric scatter communications link. The study investigated the integration of solid state devices with the individual array characteristics are defined and block diagrams of an integrated communication phased array are developed for a tropospheric scatter system and for a satellite communications system. The specifications for the components of the block diagrams are derived. (Author)
