Investigation and Compilation of the Thermodynamic Properties of High Temperature Chemical Species
Abstract
Presented is the status of the JANAF Thermochemical Tables. The system for keeping track of interrelations and dependencies among species is described. Measurements of the low-temperature heat capacity of alpha-beryllium nitride gave an entropy of 8.157 gibbs/mol at 298K. Fundamental frequencies of Al2Br6(c) were assigned from measurements of infrared spectra. Appendices discuss the new JANAF values of the enthalpy of formation for HF and 13 related fluorides. Included are HF, BF3, CF4, NF3, NaF, C2F4, CF3, and CF3X (X = H, Cl, Br, I, CN, CF3). (Author)
