Program Definition for the Design and Development of an Integrated Facilities System (IFS).

Abstract

A concept is proposed for an integrated facilities system (IFS) responsive to the needs of Headquarters, DA, and each of the command echelons, providing structured information for more effective management of US Army real property resources. Requisite information is identified; relationships to management functions are delineated; and sources are indicated and existing reporting system identified. Included is a recommended system development plan employing a modular approach to development and a management plan specifying the resources required as a function of time and as related to modules. Modules are provided for; facilities planning; construction; real property inventory; facilities condition evaluation and readiness; and real property maintenance activities.
