Theoretical Analysis of Thick Dome Structures and Arbitrary Solids of Revolution Subjected to Unsymmetrical Loadings.

Abstract

Three computer programs for elastic (ELAD), elastic-plastic (EPAD), and limit (LIMIT) analysis of arbitrary solids of revolution including thick dome structures are summarized in this report. Program manuals for the three programs are presented under separate cover. Presented here is a summary outlining the capability of the three programs. A significant extension of state of the art for the analysis of thick dome structures and other solids of revolution is included. For the user's convenience input data formats of the three programs have been kept similar. ELAD and EPAD have been designed in such a form that they can be extended to analyze dynamic, viscoelastic, and creep problems. This report discusses the application of the computer programs for analysis of reinforced concrete type structures. Recommendations for parametric studies of thick dome configurations are included together with a sample study. (Author)
