C-5 Aircraft Mobile Loading System Design Study.

Abstract

The study briefly describes eleven mobile C-5 loading systems. Four of those systems are selected as suitable candidates for further detailed analysis in order to select a system which will best accomplish the requirements for off-loading and on-loading the C-5 Aircraft. Each of the four selected systems are then evaluated for two criteria: (1) Fastest possible turn around time (2) forty-five minutes turn around time for four different aircraft loading configurations. For each system, criteria and loading configuration the manpower and equipment requirements are identified and the cost are determined. The analysis is performed using computer simulation. (Author)
