Radiation Effects, Volume I, Proceedings of a Meeting, 3-4 December 1969.

Abstract

The proceedings are a compilation of technical papers presented at a meeting on Radiation Effects held at the Air Force Weapons Laboratory (AFWL) on 3-4 December 1969. The meeting was sponsored by the Nuclear Survivability Working Group for Propulsion and Ordnance Systems, a joint Army, Navy, Air Force activity tasked to provide guidance on the assessment of propulsion system survivability/vulnerability. Papers were classified according to three principle areas: Materials Response and Simulation, Ordnance, and Propulsion Systems. Included were papers on dynamic material response modeling and testing including electron beam, plate slap and underground nuclear tests, and explosives initiation and propellant response. (Author)
