Microwave Parametric Amplifier.

Abstract

The program is aimed at developing an all solid state parametric amplifier in the 9 to 10.4 GHz band using a twin junction coaxial varactor. A prototype integrated three-port circulator with an instantaneous bandwidth of 9 to 10.4 GHz was constructed and tested. Two three-port circulators were also tested in a four-port configuration. The results obtained led to the design and construction of a fully integrated four port circulator including diode biasing circuitry. A TEO device package for operation in the millimeter wave region was designed and several units were constructed. A waveguide pump oscillator was designed to use this package and is now under construction. The preliminary coaxial diode structure was completed and prepared for varactor diode mounting. (Author)
