ADP Analysis for the Integrated Facilities System.

Abstract

The study provides an analysis of four alternative automatic data processing (ADP) concepts for the integrated facilities system (IFS) and recommends one of these ADP concepts for use with the IFS. Basically, the concepts delineate the gross computer and communication requirements and locations. The recommended ADP concept was determined by translating the IFS functional capabilities into gross ADP requirements for each of the four alternative concepts and then comparing the costs associated with each, including both the processing and communications costs. The alternative concepts were also evaluated in terms of responsiveness by using subjective criteria prior to the determination of a recommended ADP concept. (Author)
