The Admiralty Experiment Works, Haslar,

Abstract

The facilities, organization and current research work of the Admiralty Experiment Works are reviewed. This laboratory is primarily an arm of the Royal Navy Ship Department at Bath and does extensive propeller, hull, sonar dome and rudder design work as well as model testing thereof. Their research program, constituting some 25% of their total effort, is also entirely in support of their primary function. About 10% of AEW's work is undertaken as contract work for private industry or other government agencies.
