Abstract

The Vosper Thornycroft Shipbuilding Division is the only shipyard in the world to own and man a cavitation tunnel for its own use. The firm specializes in fast, gas-turbine powered patrol craft and frigates primarily for export but also for the Royal Navy. It is endeavoring to enter the Hovercraft market with its VT-1 completed in 1969 now undergoing reliability trials. (Author)
