Technical Specifications of the East German TFU 970 Carrier Frequency System.

Abstract

The TFU 970 carrier-frequency system is used to form a carrier-frequency bunch of max. 960 telephone channels from sixteen sixty-channel groups, to transmit this channel bunch to microwave stations over cables of as much as 9 km in length, and to separate (without conversion) the first 60-channel groups from the transmission band at radio-relay stations. This system constitutes a linkage between the 60-channel terminal equipment of the ETF/UTF system and our RVG 958 and RVG 960 broadband microwave systems, which permit the transmission of 600 and/or 960 telephone channels per unit.
