URSADYN - A Components System for Assembling Single-Purpose Computers,

Abstract

The article describes the URSADYN line of analog components and function modules used in the URSAMAT system. The aim is to meet the widest possible applications with the minimum number of different component types. Only those devices used in the design and operation of analog computers are considered here; they include electronic as well as electromechanical units. Of special interest are several active devices, namely: AVO 01-B directly coupled d.c. voltage amplifier, AVO 02-B similar with a chopper-preamplifier, AVO 05-B resta-type (several identical-amplifiers) with asymmetrical input and output, AA 001 and AA 002 summators, AB 001.....AB 004 inverters, and others. The basic signal flow in an information processing system is shown, all component types are listed together with their performance equations and equivalent circuit diagrams. Some examples of their practical application in performing specific operations are discussed.
