Radiation Effects on Quartz Oscillator Crystals.

Abstract

The report represents the state of the art on the effects of transient and steady-state radiation on quartz oscillator crystals. Results of tests obtained from various investigators indicate that changes in the operational characteristics of quartz oscillator crystals that occur at total doses below 10,000 rads (C) in either radiation environment are insignificant for many applications of these devices.
