Adhesive and Grouting Materials for Gluing Various Materials,

Abstract

A variety of materials, especially glass to metal, can be bonded with an adhesive consisting of an epoxy resin (I), a polysulfide (II), and an amine hardener. Thus, glass lenses and colored glass were bonded to metal support rings by using a combination of 40 parts heat-hardening I, 10 parts low-viscosity II (3.65 percent SH), and a polyamine hardener. The compound hardened upon heating for 2 hrs. at 130 degrees. The adhesive was also suitable for metal-metal, metal-ceramic, metal-thermosetting resin, glass-rubber, and glass-thermosetting resin bonding.
