Development of Neutron Radiographic Techniques and Standards at the AFIT Nuclear Engineering Center.

Abstract

The recently developed neutron radiography facility at the Air Force Institute of Technology Nuclear Engineering Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, was evaluated to determine its suitability for critical application to problems in inspection and analysis by Air Force scientists and contractors. The transfer technique using indium foil converter screens was used. Primary emphasis was placed upon the optimization of radiographic image sharpness using a specially designed resolution test object and advanced techniques for image analysis. (Author)
