Flight Test Report of AN/ASN-82 Inertial Navigation System,

Abstract

A lightweight, low-cost R and D aircraft inertial navigation system is evaluated for use in Army aircraft. A brief description of the system is followed by a summary of the methods of laboratory, truck, and flight testing employed. Test results are presented and show that the system meets the design goals of 2 to 4 nautical miles/hour. Problem areas uncovered during the tests are discussed in detail and areas of suggested future effort are outlined. (Author)
