Metal Oxide Silicon/Medium Scale Integrated Circuit Computer for Coordinate Transformation.

Abstract

The coordinate transformation for a missile with angular rates up to 60 deg/sec a strapdown application can easily be solved with a serial adder arrangement Digital Differential Analyzer with use of fast bipolar class components, or with a parallel adder arrangement Digital Differential Analyzer that makes it possible to use the slower metal oxide silicon components. Both arrangements solve the same 3 x 3 direction cosine matrix in the same real time which in effect transforms the outputs of body-mounted inertial sensors into stabilized coordinate system inputs to a navigation computer.
