A Multi-Scale Research Program in Tropical Meteorology.

Abstract

The report summarizes the field observation program on or near Barbados in the summer of 1969, in conjunction with the Barbados oceanographic and meteorological experiment (BOMEX). A preliminary catalog of the data collected is included from the Sub-cloud Instrument Telemetry System, constant level, free-rise balloons and the data taken from towers on Barbados. Three independent investigations are included as appendices: (1) A Note on an Improved Quasi-Lagrangian Advective Scheme for Primitive Equations. (2) Optimum Influence Radii for Interpolation with the Method of Successive Corrections. (3) A Note of Boundary Layer Wind Structure Above Sloping Terrain. (Author)
