Graphite Fiber Tow, Epoxy Matrix Composites.

Abstract

Data are presented on the mechanical properties (range of moduli andstrength) of unidirectional and bidirectional epoxy composites utilizinggraphite fibers (in the form of tow) as reinforcements. One-meter- onglengths as well as 1000-foot continuous lengths of tow were prepreggedwith epoxy resin. Composites were fabricated and evaluated in tension, flexure, interlaminar shear, and compression. The composite propertiesindicated good translation of fiber properties. (Author-PL)
